The manufacturing giant's expansion includes a warehouse and chiller building to support a new cereal production line. Located on the northeast corner of the existing North Delta Production building, the expanded area includes loading docks along the north wall and storage space for the facility. The chiller building houses an electrical room with mechanical equipment space and an ammonia chiller room. The design-build facility function of this project is the first stage in a multi-stage program to bring this expansion into production. As in all projects of this type, sanitary design and construction principles are of the utmost importance. The truck entrance and trailer parking adds two lanes of entrance and exit traffic. To keep two lanes of traffic functioning at all times, the project takes place in three phases. Trailer parking is expanded to an existing gravel parking lot with concrete dolly pads. A fire lane is installed along with a hydrant and perimeter fencing with an owner-furnished access control gate.
