Eastover AASF Hangar Addition

Interior features of the hangar area include three five-ton bridge cranes each capable of spanning 36′-8″ at a travel speed of 75 feet per minute to allow for the easy transport of heavy equipment throughout the facility.

In order to easily allow for the entrance and exit of aircrafts at the facility, the building is equipped with two 25-foot steel sliding hangar doors capable of withstanding an external wind load of 80mph. Multiple overhead coiling doors are also included for shop purposes.

For security purposes, the building is equipped with a blast mitigation curtain wall system and construction requires full compliance with FAA and Department of Homeland Security requirements. Furthermore, this project incorporates Anti-Terrorism (AT) features to comply with AT regulations, physical security, and progressive collapse mitigation.

As an enhanced security feature, the building contains an interior armory vault system composed of 100% steel and made to withstand temperatures of 2300 degrees Fahrenheit for 60 minutes. In the event of fire, the hangar area includes a foam-water sprinkler system to protect the sensitive electrical components of the aircrafts, while all administrative/office areas include wet-pipe sprinkler systems. The office area is also equipped with packaged heating and cooling unit while the hangar area includes radiant heaters and roof-mounted exhaust fans for ventilation.

The project includes a full site development package with utility extension tie-ins.
