Memory Care Support Suites

Aldersgate expands their continuing care community, Cuthbertson Village. With 16 private memory care support suites plus a common area kitchen, living room, and dining room, the household neighborhood model provides the utmost care in an environment that feels like home.

Major renovations at Town Center, the core of Cuthbertson Village, provide life-enriching spaces for residents to interact with each other and their caregivers including a courtyard garden for dining and gathering, movie theater, chapel, and spa/salon.

The expansion marks the first of a four-phase master plan for the Aldersgate community. The multi-phased project has a two-year schedule and competitively positions Aldersgate within the senior living market place.

Skilled Nursing

Aldersgate continues to expand, adding a 125-bed Skilled Nursing Facility. This expansion provides healthcare services to residents in need of long-term care, as well as short-term rehabilitation. Of the six total households (20 private suites per household), each contains a private living room, dining room, intermediate warming/serving kitchen, and areas for administrative staff. The residential kitchen and bathroom setup allows for physical therapists to assist residents in regaining their independence. Two full-service kitchens are built to prepare order-by-menu and cooked-to-order meals, which are delivered to the intermediate kitchens and served restaurant style to residents.

With lodge-style vaulted ceilings and stained millwork/trim, the common area welcomes in residents and their family members. This area also includes a large lobby and reception area, plus commercial office space and training areas for administration and staff members. Located on the lower level of the facility is  back-of-house staff and administrative space. This level also provides to the Aldersgate community a home for dialysis and hospice services.

The rehabilitation area offers multiple rehabilitative therapies, providing a place for residents to regain strength and ultimately transition back to their homes. Here some of the most advanced rehabilitation equipment in the industry is used, including a Hydroworks therapeutic pool with an underwater treadmill. Daily living activities are performed in an outdoor therapy courtyard.

Commons Expansion & Renovation

The Commons Expansion and Renovation project consists of a single-story expansion and first-floor renovation to the existing eight-story Epworth Tower. Added amenities in the expansion include a market café for dining, club room, winter garden, lounge and lounge bar, and a spa. Executive offices are housed in the expanded space. The renovation of the commons area includes five dining venues, a complete kitchen, cooking exhibition area, fitness classroom, and wellness center.

Various materials combine to create the building envelope including exterior insulation finishing systems (EIFS), metal panels, stone veneer, and curtainwall glazing systems. The 11-month construction schedule is planned to overlap with the completion of the Skilled Nursing Facility and the development of future independent living facilities planned for this campus.

Independent Living Expansion

Aldersgate’s expands their campus with three independent living buildings for this project. Building A features 38 villa-style apartment units while Building B and C both include 12 residences. Each building is constructed atop an underground parking structure with three-stories of wood-framed construction above. The facility blends with the existing Aldersgate campus with exterior skin elements including exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS), stone, and glass.
