Together with @ls3p and skilled trade partners, our Charleston team delivers this stunning 34,000-SF, two-story office building containing the Emergency Operations Center and Customer Technology Center for Charleston Water System (CWS). The facility houses all essential departments directly adjacent to the utility company's Hanahan Water Treatment Plant, offering a centralized hub for CWS services.⠀
⠀
One unique element of this project involves a display for a 100-year-old wooden pipe held together with metal bands found on the property. The project team took great care to preserve this piece of the city's history, as the pipe is theorized to be a result of the material shortages that left cast iron piping in short supply during World War I.⠀

The Lowcountry community continued its record-breaking streak by raising more than $1.1 million through the @americanheartsc 2023 Lowcountry Heart Walk for the fourth year in a row! Driven by their passion for #BuildingUp their community, our Charleston employee-owners raised more than $80,000 through various fundraising events and the Walk itself.⠀

As a cherry on top, this year's Little Hearts Queen was Choate's very own Libba Palmer, daughter of Page and Chris Palmer. Chris is a Senior Project Manager who has been with Choate Charleston for more than 15 years.⠀

As a women+ led 501(c)3, the nonprofit provides a climate-conscious alternative to traditional demolition that limits both environmental and public health impacts, while also preserving the rich history of the Hostess City of the South. Emphasizing research and documentation to guide their practices on structural removal, Re:Purpose trains women-identified, transgender, nonbinary, and underrepresented groups for successful, meaningful careers in the construction industry.⠀
