Choate is proud to announce three exciting Excellence in Construction awards from ABC of the Carolinas!

Duke Health Center for Living located in Durham, NC was honored with an Eagle award in the Renovation / Restoration $5M to $10M category. The Center for Living Campus at Duke University plays host to innovative, personalized health and wellness programs. Two buildings are modernized: the Wallace Clinic and the Pepsico Health and Fitness Center. The Wallace Clinic, which offers various sports medicine services, receives an interior renovation while a two-story addition is constructed to house the Michael W. Krzyzewski Human Performance Laboratory and MRI Labs. The one-story Pepsico Health and Fitness Center is gutted and completely upgraded. A 6,940-SF mezzanine is constructed over the existing walking track to house the Physical Therapy Rehabilitation group.

Wade III Office Building located in Raleigh, NC received a Merit award in the Commercial $10M to $25M category. Wade III brings four floors of Class A speculative office space to west Raleigh, NC. Efficient floor plans without interior columns offer tenants the ideal starting point for fully customizable upfits. Clad in architectural precast, brick-faced precast, and curtain wall, the steel-framed structure is the third office building in master-planned Wade Park.

Wade III also received the Carolinas Green Award, which recognizes a project for its environmentally sustainable and Green techniques. Sustainable features of the LEED Gold certified building include energy efficient mechanical and plumbing systems, LED lighting, enhanced commissioning, and rooftop solar panels. This is the second consecutive year Choate has received this prestigious honor; Marsico Hall at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill took home the 2015 award.
