Choate Brings First Kombucha + Beer Fermented Brewery to Charleston, SC
August 18, 2022
What started as a dream in the mountains of Colorado became a reality in the quiet historic city of Asheville, NC, and now the owners of Bevi Bene Brewing Co. expand their operations with a second location in Charleston, SC. In partnership with Choate Construction Company and Synchronicity Land + Architecture, Bevi Bene Brewing offers its guests a unique, stylized experience to enjoy both their kombucha and beer brewed on location. The brewery celebrated its grand opening on June 25, joining Charleston’s brewery district.
Combining modern and free-spirited design styles, the brewery is a prime representation of the owners’ history in Colorado and journey to the southeast. Located at the Lumberyard office park nearby the city, Bevi Bene provides an inviting indoor-outdoor setup that complements the go-with-the-flow energy of the town.
The team transformed the interior shell space into a brewery and tasting room, with all of the accouterments a brewery could need – from fermenters, hot and cold liquor tanks, cold storage room, grain cracking room, and office space. Contemporary roll-up garage doors allow freedom of movement and connection between the interior and exterior, and the bright design of the mural on the exterior balance the exposed metal of the brewing equipment inside.
The brewery will also feature weekly food trucks onsite in the ample parking space within the property’s 5,600-SF footprint.
