Providing a comfortable and efficient living space for 144 airmen, this three-story dorm features two wings of four-person living modules connected by a central Commons building. The dormitory is constructed of reinforced concrete foundation and floor slab, structural steel framing, and a CMU masonry veneer façade with a metal standing seam room system.
The construction, maintenance, and operations of this facility focus on efficiency, earning it LEED Silver certification. Notable sustainable features include the redevelopment of a Brownfield site and an HVAC system which includes a geothermal heat pump. In addition, the buildings also contain antiterrorism force protection requirements identified in the DoD Unified Facilities Criteria.
Site preparation for the project includes demolition of two existing three story dormitory buildings, as well as all associated utilities, parking and pavement.
