Solidifying Our OneLife Safety Culture at Project Agate

Category

Date

On every jobsite, our team creates a culture surrounding safety. At Project Agate, Choate held two site-wide stand downs on relevant safety topics.

Health professionals from Vidant Edgecombe Hospital visited our jobsite to give a presentation on symptoms and first aid for heat exhaustion and stroke. The team also discussed how to prevent heat stress-related injuries. Presented in both English and Spanish led to an inclusive discussion around heat exhaustion/heat stress. The team also presented each of the workers with a water bottle.

Members from Edgecombe County Sherriff’s office led a discussion around general safety on and off the jobsite. Topics included distracted driving, securing valuables and returning home safely each and every day from the jobsite.

These two safety stand downs help to solidify our OneLife safety culture.
