SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (April 21, 2026) – Leaders from MUSC Health joined Choate Construction Company, The Keith Corporation, and McMillan Pazdan Smith today to celebrate the groundbreaking of the MUSC Health Nexton Medical Pavilion, a new healthcare facility that will expand access to care in the growing Summerville community.

The four-story, approximately 80,000-SF medical office building will be located at the corner of Nexton Parkway and Grand Boulevard. Once complete, the facility will support a wide range of outpatient services, bringing comprehensive, high-quality care closer to home for residents across Berkeley County and the surrounding region.

Designed to support both patients and care teams, the building will integrate clinical spaces, advanced imaging suites, and therapy areas within a cohesive, patient-focused environment. Program elements include exam rooms, procedure spaces, imaging modalities such as MRI and CT, and infusion services, all supported by coordinated building systems and infrastructure.

“We’re proud to continue our partnership with MUSC Health and The Keith Corporation on another important project for our region,” said Tim McIntosh, Vice President & Division Manager for Choate Construction in Charleston. “This facility reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to high-quality care while delivering a thoughtfully designed, high-performing healthcare environment for patients and providers.”

The project will involve full ground-up construction, including structural framing, building envelope systems, and complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination to support specialized medical equipment and clinical operations. Careful planning of circulation, registration, and waiting areas will enhance patient flow and improve operational efficiency for staff.

With a shared approach and proven partnership, Choate Construction, The Keith Corporation, and MUSC Health continue to advance projects that support long-term growth and evolving community needs.

Construction is now underway, with completion anticipated for Summer of 2027.
