Choate celebrated a huge monumental milestone at Liberty SouthPark Continuing Care Retirement Community (The Barclay) with subcontractors, architects, and project ownership along with fellow Choate employee-owners. This topping out celebrates the dedicated craftmanship and attention to detail of SouthPark’s newest centerpiece.

Topping out the massive concrete structure took many long hours and some impressive numbers:

• 1,994 tons of rebar
• 761,800 lbs. of post tension tendons
• 25,068 cubic yards of concrete
• 56 elevated deck pours
• 580,000 SF of elevated deck pours
• 1,268 lifts of columns

Changing the landscape of senior housing in Charlotte, North Carolina, Liberty Healthcare Management teams with LS3P and Choate Construction Company to create Liberty SouthPark Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in the heart of the upscale South Park neighborhood. Liberty’s model for the facility as an all rental option sharply contrasts their entry-fee and fee-simple based competitors in the surrounding area. The Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) is the anchor component of the overall master planned Liberty SouthPark development.
