Ground Broken and Blessed for MACS Fine Arts Center

December 22, 2020

Catholic Diocese of Charlotte and Charlotte Catholic High School break ground on a fine arts center to serve Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools. During the groundbreaking ceremony, Bishop Peter Jugis led those who gathered with prayer, blessed the building site with holy water, and offered some remarks.

The 47,000-square-foot MACS Fine Arts Center is Choate’s second project on the CCHS campus, having constructed the high school’s stadium renovation and parking deck in 2015. MACS Fine Arts Center provides a much-needed home to CCHS’s band, choral, art, and theater disciplines with the highlight of the building being a fully-furnished auditorium complete with theater performance lighting, A/V systems, and seating.  Other amenities include a separate “black box” theater room, choral, band practice rooms, and space for the school’s pottery, art, digital learning, and “maker” classes.

Designed by Little Diversified Architectural Consulting, MACS Fine Arts Center is expected to deliver Spring 2022.
