A neglected neighborhood is given new life through the completion of the ambitious mixed-use project, Metropolitan at Midtown. The project team’s efforts turned an abandoned 14-acre site of Charlotte’s first enclosed mall into a thriving retail center with condos, restaurants and offices that totaling nearly 1 million SF.
The two condominium towers, MetLofts and MetTerraces, comprise the residential portion of the development. Residents enjoy the high ceilings, open floor plans and expansive windows, as well as the convenience of shops and restaurants along Metropolitan Avenue. MetLofts contains 60 units; MetTerraces has 41 units.
The retail complex features a Home Depot, Super Target, and its attached six-level parking deck with escalators. Choate also constructed several of the stores within this complex including, Best Buy, Marshalls, and Staples and performed interior upfits for smaller retail stores, such as Modern Salon and Spa.
This trend-setting eclectic interior upfit along bustling Metropolitan Avenue features an open two-story floor plan. Leather panels, stainless steel cable railings, and solid ash and marble bar tops are just a few of the high-end features of Vivace.
