Square Footage 84,000
Location Boone, NC
Phase I on ASU’s campus includes student housing with 912 beds, and a 477 space parking deck. The buildings consist of a type V wood framed structure with a cast stone and brick exterior. Green aluminum windows and metal roof elements are used to tie the new building in with the existing campus architecture. The building mechanical system includes PTACs inside the units and ERUs located on the roof for the common areas. Finishes are typical of an institutional, on-campus, dormitory with hard surface flooring typical through-out the units. Green Globes certification is being sought for the project.

The Appalachian State University Student Housing Public Private Partnership (ASU P3) project includes the construction of approximately 2,100 beds to replace the current student housing facility on the west campus. Over the course of the program, four new student housing buildings are constructed, and five antiquated buildings are demolished. The new housing utilizes suite and semi-suite style units and provide a modernized living experience for incoming App State freshmen and sophomore students.
