In its 13th year, Choate Construction Company’s Cars & ‘Q for the Cause fundraising event generated $514,960 in support of and in partnership with the Georgia Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), bringing the lifetime total of funds raised through the show to an incredible $3.13 million! Driven by extra fuel and fervor for a cystic fibrosis (CF) cure, the award-winning car show and party hosted 800+ attendees, 130 stellar cars, and 100+ sponsors for a fun-filled day of philanthropy and community.
This incredible achievement was made possible by the show’s robust list of sponsors, including Ameris Bank, The William B. Orkin Foundation, ProCom Consulting, Inc, RISE: A Real Estate Company, and so many more. Their contributions are what make the show a success year after year.
“Thanks to our spectacular sponsors, vendors, guests, friends and family, and the outstanding team at the CFF Georgia Chapter, we are one step closer to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis,” said Event Founder and Coordinator Emily Bridges. “These are tangible differences that are being made in the lives of CF Fighters across the country, all because of the care and commitment our employee-owners and community have to ending this disease once and for all.”
Guests, car drivers, and sponsors all enjoyed a generous spread of BBQ from Jim ‘n Nicks; continuous pours from local vendors, including Deep Roots Wine Market & Tasting Room, From the Earth Brewing, New Realm Brewing Co., Pontoon Brewing Company, and STATS Brewpub, as well as silent auction items, live music, and friendly car competition.
“This show as grown tremendously over the last 13 years, and every employee-owner at Choate is so grateful for the support of our community in driving out CF,” said Brian Bollins, Director of Operations for Choate’s Atlanta office. “As a result of their efforts and the passion fun-raising that occurs every year, we have already seen significant advances in the treatments and therapies available for people with CF. Better still is the news the Foundation shared that the average life expectancy for people with CF has increased to more than 50 years!”
This year’s show saw a variety of prize-winning automobiles, from classic sports cars to muscle, exotic, and rare finds and local firetrucks for the kids. Each step of progress is made possible by the continued dedication and compassion of CFF donors. Not to mention the outstanding support and effort of Choate’s team of volunteers! Teams put in countless hours of time to source donations, encourage sponsorships, and put on the event from set-up to take-down.
Next year’s show is already on the calendar! Save the date: October 21, 2023.
