Choate Construction Partners with Autism Strong Foundation for Charity Family Festival Benefiting Local Autism Community
August 20, 2021
CHARLOTTE, NC August 20, 2021. Choate Construction is excited to announce its partnership with nonprofit, Autism Strong Foundation (ASF). The partnership will kick off with BuildStrong, a family-focused festival benefitting local children with autism.
“We teamed up with Autism Strong because they are Charlotte-based, locally funded, and support families in the Queen City,” said John Dudas, Division Manager at Choate Construction.
The event is making waves as Charlotte’s first-ever family festival to not only benefit autism, but to include a full hour prior to the event start when children with autism can attend with no sensory overload. Planning to host more than 300 individuals, the event will take place at Symphony Park in SouthPark on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
In addition to family-friendly activities, the event will host a cornhole tournament on the amphitheater stage. Festival goers can enjoy music, lawn games, bounce houses, and get a close-up look at construction equipment. Tickets include mouth-watering BBQ plates from Noble Smoke and Suffolk Punch craft beer (21+). Children 6 and under are free with an accompanying adult ticket holder.
“We felt like we were called upon to do something for the community. With BuildStrong, we have the opportunity to make a huge impact and help families here in Charlotte,” said Rudy Thoms, Founder of Autism Strong Foundation.
All funds raised are mindfully donated to the local community in the way that will make the greatest impact, connecting families and children to the resources they desperately need.
