Striking Exterior with Comprehensive Interior Construction
The building’s exterior showcases a striking blend of black brick, box-ribbed metal panels, architectural wood accents, and expansive glass storefronts. A dramatic, cantilevered canopy at the main entrance offers sheltered patient drop-off and pickup, enhancing convenience and comfort on a tight urban site. Inside, the team delivered a comprehensive medical space complete with sophisticated equipment, offices, patient rooms, conference rooms, and consulting spaces for patients and their providers.

Delivering Results
Despite complex site conditions and utility constraints, Choate’s proactive approach ensured a predictable, on-target delivery, meeting both budget expectations and schedule goals. Knightdale Gateway stands as a testament to teamwork, ingenuity, and commitment to excellence, positioning Beacon Partners for continued success in this growing market.
Building in a Narrow Space
Situated on a tight site, this project requires creative solutions for bricking the exterior. With just an eight-foot-wide clearance, too narrow for traditional machinery, every brick and material was hand-carried or wheeled into place. An Aussie lift was then maneuvered into the limited space to provide vertical reach. While a logistical challenge, the team’s hands-on solution delivered the intended aesthetic on schedule.
Constructing a Space for Modern Medicine
The facility supports a wide range of medical services, including:
- Internal Medicine
- Women’s Health
- Gastroenterology
- Non-Surgical Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
- Radiology & Nuclear Imaging
- Phlebotomy and Lab Services
Specialized equipment such as bone density scanners, x-rays, and other imaging tools were fully integrated within the layout to support streamlined care.
This two-story, multi-specialty facility reflects the project team’s commitment to architectural excellence, patient-centered design, and seamless functionality.
