Choate delivers the campus' original 65,000-SF, design-build corporate headquarters, establishing the foundation for Benefitfocus' long-term growth on Daniel Island. Constructed on a shallow-driven stone pier foundation, the two-story Class A office features structural steel framing and load-bearing tilt-up concrete panels with intricate reveals, more than 200 floor-to-ceiling windows, and a white TPO roofing system. Inside, raised access flooring routes mechanical and electrical systems beneath reconfigurable floor panels, creating a flexible workplace complete with collaborative meeting spaces, classroom-style training areas, a full-service café, a 14-by-19-ft data center, and emergency backup power to support continuous technology operations.

As Benefitfocus continues to grow, the campus expands with a 145,000-SF, four-story Customer Success Center that doubles the company's existing office footprint and serves as the centerpiece of a larger campus master plan. Constructed with 70-ft tilt-wall concrete panels, deep pile foundations, structural steel framing, and enhanced seismic bracing, the facility is engineered to perform within the Lowcountry's coastal environment. Twenty-seven conference rooms, 47 huddle rooms, a café, outdoor gathering spaces, abundant natural light, and raised access flooring create flexible environments that support collaboration, training, and customer engagement.

Wide pedestrian walkways, cart paths, and landscaped trails connect the headquarters, Customer Success Center, and future office buildings, creating a cohesive campus environment that encourages interaction across departments. Planned to ultimately expand from two buildings to five, totaling nearly 500,000 SF, the development provides capacity for approximately 1,200 additional associates while supporting the continued growth of both Benefitfocus and the Charleston technology community.
