This award-winning corporate headquarters and call center for Benefitfocus, one of South Carolina's fastest growing technologies, provides a cohesive campus setting for employees once scattered among multiple leased spaces. The campus is highlighted by a 145,000-SF, four-story training facility featuring 27 conference rooms, 47 “huddle” rooms, a café, and outdoor patio. Each area is enhanced with access flooring, modern furnishings and boasts abundant natural light to foster conversation and collaboration. The structure of the facility is comprised of 70’ high tilt wall panels on deep pile foundations with structural steel columns and beams. Because the site is located in a high seismic and hurricane zone, bracing is added to handle the seismic requirements. Abundant wide walking paths, cart paths and trails provide interconnectivity between the existing building and the new facility to create a campus style, community-friendly environment for Benefitfocus associates. Also included on the campus are two shell office buildings. Choate completes three projects for this highly-valued, repeat client.
