Cars & ‘Q for the Cause Raises More Than $500,000 to Fund a Cure for Cystic Fibrosis

October 18, 2021

In a decades-long partnership with the Georgia Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), Choate Construction Company hosted its annual Cars & ‘Q for the Cause car show and fundraiser in October. During its 12th year in action, the car show and party raised $505,228 to fund a cure for cystic fibrosis – the second year in a row the fundraising efforts have broken $500,000! This year’s tally brings the lifetime total of event fundraising to $2.26 million for CFF.

After 10+ years in service to CF, the fundraising event has grown by leaps and bounds to welcome more than 1,200 attendees enjoying 120-plus cars of all genres; a generous spread of BBQ from Jim ‘n Nicks; continuous pours from local craft breweries; silent auction items; live music from The Jump Cut, and more.

This incredible achievement was made possible by our robust list of sponsors, some new and some who have been with the show from the start. Their contributions are what have made the show an award-winning success year after year, with a direct role in the creation of the FDA-approved, life-saving drug, Trikafta. In fact just this year, CFF announced not one, but TWO massive breakthroughs – the ability for children 6-11 years old to take Trikafta, and the increased life expectancy of CF fighters to 50 years!

Each step of progress is made possible by the continued dedication and compassion of CFF donors. Not to mention the outstanding support and effort of Choate’s team of volunteers! Teams put in countless hours of time to source donations, encourage sponsorships, and put on the event from set-up to take-down, right in the parking lot of Choate’s Sandy Springs headquarters.
