In partnership with the Autism Strong Foundation (ASF), Choate’s fourth annual BuildStrong family festival for autism in Charlotte raised nearly $660,000 for local families with autism.
The first-of its kind in the city, BuildStrong is a family-friendly, autism-focused event geared toward raising awareness and critical funds to bring much-needed resources, therapies, and grants to children with autism and their families. With a strong start in 2021, BuildStrong has raised $2.4 million for ASF, now in its fourth year creating a judgement-free space where families gather to celebrate acceptance and inclusion. Uniquely, BuildStrong offers guests with autism a sensory-friendly hour before the show’s official start, where noise- and/or crowd-sensitive kids can come and enjoy the event in a peaceful setting.
In addition to funds raised for ASF, 100% of proceeds from the 1,860 tickets sold for this year’s event went directly to support Hurricane Helene relief efforts.
BuildStrong will return in 2025 on Saturday, October 18!
