Trane Technologies, a leading global provider of indoor comfort systems and services, expands its existing operations with a 684,000-SF design-build facility. Located in South Carolina’s capital, Columbia, Trane’s expansion creates 700+ jobs. Tripling the size of the existing facility, exterior walls are supported by insulated load-bearing precast concrete wall panels. Highlights of the attractive yet efficient interior includes LED light fixtures and fully-conditioned HVAC using self-contained rooftop units. Structure, roofing, and fire protection are engineered to meet FM Global standards. An additional 400+ employee parking spaces are added along with 2 truck courts and secured outside storage areas. An electrical substation, extensive utility improvements and relocations, and retaining walls complete the 80-acre site. To maintain Trane’s daily operations, coordination, and logistics is a critical part of the project. Trane Columbia Operations Expansion is LEED Certified.
