As a part of its ongoing supply chain strategy, repeat client MSC Industrial Direct Co., Inc. expands its capacity in the Midwest with a customer fulfillment center in Columbus, Ohio. Fast-tracked with a challenging 7.5-month schedule, the facility is constructed on a 70 acre site that requires 180,000 CY of imported fill.

Features include a PVC roofing system, 26 fully-equipped dock positions, 16,800 SF of main office area, shipping office and receiving office both 3,300 SF, 4,000-SF battery charging area, and an additional 8,800 SF of upfitted areas.
The warehouse space is fully equipped with a 30,000-SF mezzanine, multi-level bin storage, conveying systems and high-bay racking. The facility implements several sustainable guidelines for construction, including a waste management program to divert at least 50% of waste from landfills, using recycled/regional materials as well as low-emitting materials. There is an additional 350,000-SF expansion pad on the southside of the facility.
