Choate is proud to announce Tim Heichelbech has been elected to the Clemson University Construction Science and Management Industry Advisory Board (IAB) for a two-year term as the Associated General Contractors (AGC) representative and liaison. Tim currently serves Choate Construction as the Director of Operations for the Charleston division.

Clemson’s IAB serves to support the work of the Construction Science and Management department at the University. Tim will meet twice a year with the Board to lead discussions and promote cutting-edge industry knowledge and educational planning.

As a Clemson University alumnus and 23-year veteran of the industry, Tim is a distinguished choice for the liaison position. Heichelbech remains heavily involved with the University, overseeing Choate’s prestigious projects for the institution’s growth including the nationally recognized SCE&G Innovation Center. In addition, Tim regularly attends annual recruitment fairs at Clemson, eager to discover new talent for Choate.

In addition to his newly appointed seat on Clemson’s IAB, Tim allots his time to two Chairs for the Carolinas Association of General Contractors (CAGC). These include Vice Chair of CAGC’s Building Division, as well as Co-Chair of South Carolina’s AIA/AGC committee.

Outside of the industry, Tim devotes himself to making an impact on Charleston’s newest generations. Along with raising two children of his own with wife, Jenny, Tim inspires young minds at Meeting Street Academy in downtown Charleston as a mentor. This flagship school has shown growth and proven academic success with the help of its dedicated staff and supportive mentors like Tim.
