Choate Construction Company is pleased to announce the promotion of Chris Spies to Director of Preconstruction in Raleigh. As a well-respected, 24-year veteran of the construction industry, Chris approaches each project with the mindset of providing maximum efficiency in schedule, cost, and design. Under his leadership, Choate’s preconstruction team will continue to foster strong relationships through integrity, proactivity, and collaboration across a variety of market sectors, including automotive, healthcare, laboratory/R&D, and more.

Serving as a dutiful steward of client projects and build long-lasting relationships, Chris implements a proactive approach by getting involved in the design phase of a project and collaborating with key stakeholders to optimize the design, find efficiencies, and evaluate ideas that drive a successful project. Chris prioritizes open and honest communication as he helps clients navigate the market, building trust with ownership, trade partners, and his project team.

Chris earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from the University of Florida. He launched his decades-long career in the construction industry as a subcontractor installing cultured marble.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys boating, water skiing, and spending time with his wife and daughters.
