Choate Construction Company is proud to announce the addition Tom Key as Director of Preconstruction. Bringing over three decades of construction leadership experience, Tom will oversee the preconstruction department and all estimating services in the Raleigh office.

“Tom’s vast construction background and proven track record of building longstanding business relationships with clients, designers, and subcontractors make him the ideal leader of our preconstruction department,” said Tom Plant, Vice President and Division Manager of Choate’s Raleigh office.

A longtime North Carolina resident, Tom earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a construction emphasis from North Carolina State University. Tom holds comprehensive knowledge of every facet of the construction industry, having served in a variety of positions over his 35-year tenure including Chief Estimator, Preconstruction Manager, Project Manager, and Superintendent.

The addition of Tom continues to support Choate’s dynamic growth including the announcement of 100% employee ownership, selection as the Southeast Contractor of the Year by ENR Southeast, and having topped $1 billion in revenues.
