Choate Construction Company received the Business of the Year Award at the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Coastal Georgia Chapter’s 4th Annual Gala in September. This award, selected by member votes, is given to a company that has shown a demonstrated commitment to supporting women in the construction industry.

“We are incredibly honored to receive this kind of recognition from our local NAWIC chapter, an organization that not only serves the talented women who make up its membership, but also supports the broader Savannah community and AEC industry,” said Kelsey Elam, Marketing Manager for Choate and Vice President for NAWIC Coastal Georgia. “Working together, we have achieved so many of our chapter goals this year, and we could not be more impressed with this dedicated group of women.”

Throughout the chapter year, Choate rallied behind the organization to increase membership, support fundraising, and engage members at Chapter events through volunteerism and service. NAWIC members also made a special trip to Choate’s Municipal Grand Hotel project for a behind-the-scenes tour of construction activities. Led by Project Manager Caroline Beuth, the tour gave members a sneak peek into the historic building’s transformation from an office building into a boutique hotel.
