Accreditation Commission for Health Care – Eagle Award
The Accreditation Commission for Health Care’s (ACHC) 25,000-SF headquarters building aids ACHC in fostering the collaborative, functional work environment needed to grow their business and culture. The two-story steel building is clad in brick veneer and a precast envelope, including large, two-story expansive glass that provides ample daylight into the building. A main entry clad in precast and containing a handsomely recessed curtainwall, rises from the foundation to beyond roof level, welcoming guests and ACHC staff alike.
Carolina Inn Phase II – Eagle Award
The Carolina Inn is a beautiful and unique icon, located on the campus of University of North Carolina in downtown Chapel Hill. This Phase II Room Renovations project was a multi-phase renovation that included the renovations of the 1970 wing, 1995 wing, South Lobby, gift shop and public restrooms, totaling 98,212 SF.
Elon University Numen Lumen Multi-Faith Center – Merit Award
Numen Lumen Pavilion, located on the campus of Elon University, receives its name from the university’s historic motto, from which the Latin meaning is “spiritual light” and “intellectual light” and serves as the University’s multi-faith religious center. Unique features of the Numen Lumen Pavilion includes a Meditation Garden, slate tile mined in Jerusalem, a copper-roofed rotunda and wood furniture made from reclaimed trees that were taken down during the excavation of the project site.
Linear Technology Raleigh Design Center – Merit Award
Located in Cary, North Carolina, the first phase of Linear Technology’s 20,000-SF Raleigh Design Center features a modern, single-story steel framed building clad in metal and glass with interior spaces for labs and offices. The building and site was designed to provide room to grow and Choate Construction looks forward to working with Linear Technology on future phases.
Many thanks to all the project managers, superintendents, and administrative staff for their hard work and dedication to producing a quality finished product on each of these projects. Choate Construction would also like to thank the Owners and Architects of each project for putting forth a strong collaborative effort and supporting us during the construction process.
