Across nine states from Florida to Connecticut on over 100 Choate jobsites, nearly 2,220 workers participated in the 2016 National Safety Stand-Down.

This Stand-Down, dedicated to identifying fall hazards and reinforcing the need for fall prevention, emphasizes Choate’s culture of safety and in particular, the “OneLife safety brand. This safety identify visibly represents Choate’s unwavering commitment to worker safety, and is designed to positively engage everyone it encounters challenging them to make safe decisions for their life, their family, and their legacy.

“Safety is a fundamental value at Choate, and taking time out of the workday to focus entirely on fall prevention is an impactful way to provide meaningful and useful information directly to the workforce,” Corporate Safety Director Chad Hart said. “Being a part of OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down is a powerful opportunity to talk with workers about the personal significance safety has to their own life and legacy.”

In 2015, 2.5 million workers across the nation participated in OSHA’s Safety Stand-Down. This year, OSHA’s goal is to reach 5 million workers – approximately half the construction workers in the nation.
