James Kelly has joined the Choate Nashville team as Director of Business Development. In this role, Kelly will capitalize on prior experience in both the real estate and construction industries to further Choate’s relationships and strategically procure sales opportunities in the greater Nashville and Tennessee region.

“James has an impressive history that uniquely positions him to capitalize on Choate’s expansive portfolio and strong client relationships,” says Matt Relick, Division Manager of Choate Nashville.  “His ability to accurately assess the marketplace, coordinate the pursuit of sales opportunities, and forge lasting connections will no doubt have a significant impact on Choate Nashville’s success.”

Kelly joins Choate after having most recently served in a similar business development capacity with McCrory Construction in South Carolina. Prior, he provided real estate consulting services representing a private family trust, where he closed over $100 million worth of acquisitions and divestitures, as well as optimized the development of real estate projects ranging in market sectors.  Kelly also brings strong intelligence in market analysis, having been a Market Lead at CoStar Group and a Research Analyst at Grubb & Ellis Company.

A graduate of The University of Mississippi, Kelly received a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Finance.  When not working, you may find him at Superica, indulging his love for Tex-Mex, or spending time with wife and new baby in the Hillsboro Village neighborhood of Nashville.

Choate officially launched its Nashville office in June of 2019. Current and recent Nashville work includes restaurant Superica, retailer Crate & Barrel, and the LKQ Corporation headquarters.  Prior, Choate’s experience in Tennessee began 20 years ago with a Georgia Pacific distribution center, later followed by notable projects such as The Icon in the Gulch mixed-use, Rhythm at Music Row boutique condos, and a host of other senior living, automotive, and corporate projects.
