Choate Construction’s Cars & ‘Q for the Cause celebrates 15 years of driving out cystic fibrosis with a bang, bringing in a record-breaking $729,757 to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s fight to cure the genetic lung disorder affecting thousands of people across the U.S. With over 1,000 attendees, 140 stellar cars, and dozens of sponsors, this year’s show, hosted at Choate’s headquarters in Atlanta, was one for the books.
The family-friendly car show featured more than 130 prize-winning automobiles, from ultra classics to exotics; a generous spread of BBQ from Jim ‘n Nicks; delicious pours from local craft vendors, including From the Earth, New Realm, Mutation Brewing and STATS Brewpub; a silent auction; live music from The Rogue Tones; friendly car competitions; and kid-friendly activities.
According to Brian Bollins, VP & Division Manager for Choate in Atlanta, the car show has become one of the most anticipated fundraisers and AEC industry events since its beginnings in 2009.
“Cars & ‘Q for the Cause has grown by leaps and bounds in its 15-year history,” said Brian. “What started as a small gathering of friends with an affinity for cars and a mission to cure cystic fibrosis has exploded into this amazing event, raising more than $5.2 million for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.”
The funds raised have significantly impacted cystic fibrosis research, leading to life-saving drugs that benefit nearly 90% of the CF population. CFF is reporting steady gains in survival with new drug developments and advancements in gene therapy promising further breakthroughs in repairing and replacing the relevant gene(s).
Each year, Choate employee-owners prioritize their long-time support for CFF through internal fundraising, with Cars & ‘Q for the Cause as their signature community event. Nationwide, Choate remains one of CFF’s top corporate fundraisers, raising more than $7 million over the company’s 35-year history.
Cars & ‘Q will return in 2025 on Saturday, October 18!
