Designed to blend seamlessly with the traditionally-styled campus architecture, these brick and cast stone clad apartments maintain an elegant façade while containing only the most modern advances in green building, having achieved LEED Silver certification.
This project marks the first residential construction project at Meredith since the 1970s, The Oaks contains 78 furnished units and a total of 252 beds with many green design and construction features that positively impact both student life within The Oaks and the broader Meredith College campus community.
Green features include dual flush toilets, "dark-sky"-friendly exterior light fixtures; water-efficient landscaping with drip irrigation; use of low-emitting materials including adhesives, paints and carpets; construction materials made from recycled products and from materials extracted and manufactured regionally; and diversion of 89% of construction waste from the landfill.
