The Space
Square Footage 5,200
Location Atlanta, GA
A welcome addition to Atlanta dining, Lure features a variety of seafood from around the world and a drink menu boasting an expansive list of both draft and bottled beers, as well as a collection of wines and innovative cocktails. The restaurant, which is open for lunch and dinner, seats 140 guests and radiates an atmosphere that is sophisticated yet suitable for everyday dining. The existing structure, comprised of a 1930s stick-frame house and a steel and concrete addition built in the early 90s, expands with the construction of a patio area. The patio incorporates concrete with a random board finish, concrete slabs with an array of seashells cast into the finish, and a cypress trellis with an operable awning. An existing section of the roof is removed and replaced with a steel truss system and new roof which accommodates clerestory windows. Additional exterior modifications include a set of steel stairs, glass windows, and doors. Extensive interior renovations begin with the complete demolition of the existing space followed by the construction of a stylish dining environment. The modern space features reclaimed wood floors and ceilings, faux finishes, decorative glass, and a bar comprised of a custom millwork piece designed to mimic the characteristics of a barrel. A large kitchen boasting state-of-the-art equipment can easily accommodate a packed house. Additional highlights include the installation of a plumbing system with two grease traps, a high-efficiency variable refrigerant flow HVAC system, and an upgraded electrical package.
