We are honored to receive the Business of the Year Award presented by the National Association of Women in Construction's Coastal Georgia Chapter! This award, selected by member votes, is given to a company that has shown a demonstrated commitment to supporting women in the construction industry.
We'd also like to congratulate our very own Marketing Manager Kelsey Elam for being named Vice President of the Chapter's board for 2024-2025!

Meet Fil Lara!
As a senior project manager and travel enthusiast, Fil is drawn to adventure in all aspects of life - including his work in construction! Fil said, "I enjoy that no project is ever the same. Even though it can be stressful at times, every project is like its own adventure."
Fil and his wife of 21 years met in Barquisimeto, Venezuela and moved to the states in search of better opportunities for their family. Fil then joined the Wolfpack as a student of NC State University, where he earned his Master of Civil Engineering (MCE). He is a die-hard sports fan and skilled tennis player, but his favorite thing to do outside of work is spend time with his family traveling to some of the most beautiful places around the world.
Thank you, Fil, for the positivity and expertise you bring to the team each and every day!

This week, in addition to supporting the @american

This week, in addition to supporting the @americanredcross with their expansive outreach, our employee-owners have mobilized to help those in the hardest-hit communities across the Southeast, bringing generators, fuel, chainsaws, tools, water, food, and other much-needed supplies generously donated by employee-owners across the company.
In North Carolina, our team worked with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission stationed at our ongoing Subaru jobsite just outside of Asheville, to help distribute to emergency outposts deep into the impacted communities. They were supported by the outstanding men and women with the Garren Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Bernardsville Fire Department, @cityofmarionnc DNR Supply Depot, and buncombesheriff.
In Georgia and South Carolina, our team partnered with @unitedwayofgreateraugusta, @augustafire, @georgiawildlife, and Choate client @communityhubaugusta to deliver much-needed equipment and supplies throughout the area, using Merit Commercial Flooring warehouse as a base of operations.

Talk about going "beyond construction!" Our Hilton

Talk about going "beyond construction!" Our Hilton Head Christian Academy project team hosted the school's kindergartners for a day of hands-on learning to support their science lessons on basic motion and machinery. Superintendent Micah Turnquist walked them through the site for the Upper School, explaining the construction equipment and providing a forklift demonstration so the students can see the concepts they're learning about in action.
After topping out on the Upper School last month, the project team is making excellent progress towards completion, right on time for students to occupy the school next fall. Once complete, the facility will provide collaborative learning spaces, an art studio, a science lab, and a second cafe for the campus, as well as a porch pavilion and courtyard area.
Relationships like those formed with the @hhcaeagles team and students are a huge part of why we love what we do. Congratulations to the team on the exciting progress!

Transforming the historic Springs Mill in Rock Hill, SC, The Thread is a 400,000-SF adaptive reuse project that combines residential, retail, office, and recreational spaces. The topping out ceremony for the Hyundai Mobility

The topping out ceremony for the Hyundai Mobility Training Center of Georgia marked a significant step in this unique project for our team in Savannah! Held at the Hyundai Metaplant in Bryan Country, GA, the event brought together over 200 attendees, celebrating the collaborative efforts that have propelled this innovative facility forward.
After the ceremony, we thanked our crews for their hard work and efforts with an appreciation lunch. As we raise the final beam, we look ahead to the transformative impact this facility will have on training and workforce development in the region.
