To continue the growth of their undergraduate programs, Marietta, GA’s Life University expands their on-campus housing options offering a true freshman experience. A key component to Life University’s growth, this 4-story, 99,926-SF residential building includes 372 student housing beds. The facility also houses a convenient, 600-seat, full-service dining hall to better serve the needs of residents and Life University students.
Designed as a semi-suite layout, amenity spaces include study rooms, communal hall bathrooms, and common areas. Interior finishes are typical of an institutional dormitory building utilizing a mix of carpet tile and luxury vinyl tile flooring in the dormitory portions of the building.
The exterior skin of the building utilizes synthetic granite veneer, aluminum composite metal panels, reveal-seam and cementitious panels with copper, and tongue-and-groove wood accent features. The building features an extremely efficient variable refrigerant flow mechanical system that not only optimizes energy use but also allows for individual thermal control by residents.
The residential hall replaces nine buildings of dilapidated housing on the west side of campus in hopes of encouraging on-campus pedestrian travel.
