At the time of construction, Beltronics was a leading manufacturer of radar and laser detectors. This Covington, GA, office and assembly facility was a 110,000-SF, two-story building on a 42-acre site.
Features included a 3,600-SF auditorium, two fitness centers, a complete kitchen with full-service cafeteria, and dining facility. Additional features included a monumental staircase with decorative handrails, a clerestory, high-end lobby and atrium area finishes, six elevators, shipping and receiving area complete with loading docks, and mechanical and electrical systems designed for high occupancy loads.
Also included was a Class 10,000, non-certifiable clean room for circuit assembly equipment.
The building has since been turned into the Newton Conference Center at Georgia Piedmont Technical College.
