Additional Projects – Motorsports

JR Motorsports
48,000 SF | Mooresville, North Carolina
This 48,000 SF race shop is for Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Busch team. Constructed in an existing shell originally completed by Choate, it includes the addition of 9,000 SF of additional office mezzanine space and the build-out of the entire shell. The facility houses fabrication, assembly, engineering, parts and paint, and setup areas for the #88 team. JR Motorsports management and team offices, team breakroom and locker facilities, indoor transporter parking, as well as a museum and gift shop are also included.

Kentucky Speedway
Site Renovation | Sparta, Kentucky
The first phase consists of an expansion and replacement of existing amenity buildings, suite renovations, and general improvements to the facility to provide a better experience for race fans. Additionally, Choate is assisting the Owner with management of the site redevelopment to create efficient parking and access in and around the site for fans, race teams and general race operations. Due to harsh weather conditions and an unseasonably wet spring, constant re-evaluation of the project schedule and flexibility allowed on-schedule completion.

Roush Racing Headquarters and Museum
Concord, NC | 83,000 SF
The trendsetting world headquarters consolidates the functions of several buildings and employees, bringing together departments such as marketing, sponsorship and corporate administration. The facility is also home to a racing museum which showcases some of Roush Racing’s most notable cars, drivers and victories.

Waltrip Racing World
Cornelius, NC | 107,363 SF
The Waltrip Racing World campus is located on eight acres and features the world’s first truly interactive race shop accessible to the public. The facility, originally a 12-screen movie theater, has been renovated to a state-of-the-art race shop. The project consists of a skywalk through the facility, live pit road practice sessions and team training. Additional features include a movie theater, retail store, restaurant, and a 40-space private motor coach area.
