This is Choate's second NASCAR multi-team race shop for Hendrick Motorsports. Like the existing team #24/#48 race shop, getting peak performance out of the shop is critical to the drivers’ success on the track. We have worked intimately with the crew chiefs & shop foremen to re-tool their manufacturing process and maximize space and efficiency. Like shaving seconds off of pit times, we were challenged to make efficient use of space and construction time. The result is a race shop that will surpass any other in the industry. The building is approximately 85,000 SF with shop and museum space on the 1st floor and Hendrick Motorsports Corporate Headquarters and driver suites on the 2nd floor. The concept of speed, motion and performance are reflected in the exterior’s aerodynamic roof and airfoil aluminum columns. The selected materials both inside and on the exterior of the building, relate to the components of the cars that are showcased in the museum. |
